Georgia couple arrested for multiple sex crimes against children

MIDWAY, Ga. (WTGS) — A Midway husband and wife were arrested on Jan. 8 after an investigation into child sex crimes online.

Detectives with Liberty County followed a lead given to them by Homeland Security. This prompted an investigation into internet crimes against children that involved John-Paul Keegan and his wife Sharon Elizabeth Keegan.

Officials say detectives gained a search warrant against the couple. John-Paul Keegan has been charged with three counts of child molestation and three counts of sexual exploitation of children. Sharon Elizabeth Keegan has been charged with two counts of child molestation, sexually explicit conduct of a minor and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Sharon's bond has been set at $126,000 and John-Paul's bond is $50,100.

Detectives, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children task force and Homeland Security Investigations are continuing their investigation into the couple.
