DC Government to remain open on Wednesday during state funeral for George H.W. Bush

Local government agencies within the District of Columbia and the DC Public Schools system will remain open Wednesday, December 5, during the state funeral for George H.W. Bush.

Bush's remains will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol from Monday evening until Wednesday morning. On that day, a memorial service will be held at the National Cathedral in Northwest Washington at 11 a.m.

Mayor Muriel Bowser has activated the District's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to ensure district services are well-coordinated during this week's events.

Officials are encouraging residents to take public transportation as significant traffic delays are expected.

Below is a map of parking restrictions that will be implemented on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and end on Wednesday at 3 p.m.:
