The D.C. area is a patchwork of re-opening guidelines. Here's what you need to know.

As officials in the Washington, D.C. region disagree on re-opening readiness, we've compiled a guide on when and to what extent jurisdictions are re-opening.


D.C.

On November 23, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced new Phase Two adjustments in the District based on a surge in the city's COVID-19 virus cases. The adjustments go into effect on Wednesday, Nov. 25

MARYLAND

On November 23, Gov. Hogan "announced the launch of a wide-scale compliance, education, and enforcement operation to slow the spread of the virus and keep Maryland safely open for business."

On Tuesday, November 10, Gov. Larry Hogan announced the state would reduce restaurant capacity to 50% starting immediately. On Nov. 20, several new restrictions were implemented.

Just like during previous phases, county governments are allowed make their own decisions about whether to follow suit. The following counties have altered guidelines. Click to see what they are allowing and not allowing at this time.


VIRGINIA

On Friday, Nov. 13, Governor Ralph Northam announced an alcohol curfew and reduced gathering limits as hospitalizations have increased statewide by more than 35 percent in the last month.

Additionally, he expanded the mask mandate to include anyone 5 years or older.
