WASHINGTON (ABC7) — D.C. Police are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Southeast DC on Wednesday evening.
At approximately 4:33 p.m. on April 18, authorities responded to the 5100 block of Southern Avenue, SE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, suffering from a gunshot wound.
DC Fire & EMS arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Barry Holmes of Temple Hills, Md.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
