Body ID'd, no foul play suspected in death of man found in Arden woods

ARDEN, N.C. (WLOS) — The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office had identified the body of a man found in the woods on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 25, 2019.

Sheriff's office spokesman Aaron Sarver tells News 13 the body was identified as Arthur Jay Wilcox, 25, and there is no evidence of foul play in his death.

Detectives identified Wilcox by his tattoos and fingerprints.

Authorities said Wilcox's bodywas found in the woods off Glenn Bridge Road in Arden.

Medical personnel performed the autopsy Thursday, and results are pending.

The cause of death remains unknown.
