North Carolina officials warn of possible measles case

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Health officials warn that people who visited a coffee shop in Durham, North Carolina, last week may have been exposed to measles.

The Durham County Public Health Department said Saturday that there was a "possible case" of measles at the Bean Traders coffee shop on June 10.

They say someone "may have been infectious" there during a small window of time, between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. last Monday. It reports patrons are now safe to return to the coffee shop.

The department said those who could have been exposed should watch for symptoms until July 1.

WSOC reports that last Tuesday, a child with a possible case of measles was also reported at a North Carolina school.

There are currently no confirmed measles cases in the state.
