Henderson County students head for the great outdoors.

Fifth graders are having fun playing games while discovering the importance of communication and helping each other out.

"We're learning how to communicate well with others,"said Lio, a student. "How to give directions to someone, how to build a shelter."

They're on a field trip at Camp Glen Arden in Zirconia, learning about ecosystems.

Students also learn about safety in the woods, building fires and rock climbing.

All of the fifth graders in Henderson County participate in the annual outdoor ed program
