News 13's investigative team is working to answer your questions about the coronavirus pandemic and its impacts on Western North Carolina.

Whether or not a campground is open during the state’s Phase 2 order is based on whether the campground is privately-owned or part of state or national grounds.

Some privately-owned campgrounds in WNC opened during Phase 1.

Most state-owned campsites are now open, and reservations must be made online. Most restroom buildings are also now open. Visitor centers, playgrounds, exhibits, meeting rooms, community buildings, and retail areas remain closed.

Many campgrounds that are part of the national forest or park service remain closed. Click here for information about the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and click here for information about the Blue Ridge Parkway.
