Concord High School students disciplined for what officials call "gang-related activity"

Concord High School issued a press release Tuesday regarding "gang-related activity" that took place in the halls of the school that morning.

They say a few students directed disrespectful comments toward an administrator, and Concord Community School police officers intervened, in an attempt to defuse the incident.

Some students did not follow directions given, according to the press release. CCSPD spoke to the students involved and concluded it was related to gang activity.

They say it was an isolated incident.

The students were disciplined and removed from school property, they say, and families were notified.

Concord Community Schools desires to keep our schools and students free from any type of threats, including, but not limited to, the harmful influence of gang-related activity. Procedures are in place to ensure the safety and security of all students and staff members. As stated in the student handbook, “Concord Community Schools prohibit all gang-related behavior. The school corporation will vigorously discipline any student who conducts gang-related activities at any time when the student is under the jurisdiction of the school, on any school properties, or at any school-related function or activity.”
