Thousands of children in Indiana are taking the I-Learn for the very first time.

The new exam replaces the I-STEP test.

School officials say the biggest difference is your kids will be taking the test on a computer. If children answer questions correctly, the questions get more difficult. If they miss some questions, the next ones get easier.

Teachers say the best thing parents can do is tell kids not to worry.

“We’ve encouraged parents to tell their kids know to relax because we’ve taught them. So they know what they need to do. They’ve been trained, they’ve been shown, they’ve been build their confidence. We’ve taught them what they need to do on the assessment and they’re going to do their best work,” said Dee Wappes, principal at Roosevelt Steam Academy.

Students will take the I-LEARN several days over the next four weeks.
