Local representatives push for Space Force headquarters to be located in Indiana

Two area representatives are making a push to get the federal headquarters for the new Space Force program located here in Indiana.

Second District Representative Jackie Walorski and Third District Representative Jim Banks have asked that it be located at Grissom Air Base in Peru.

Walorski says they want to highlight what this area has to offer.

"The nice thing about Grissom is the space, the amount of land that's out there. And what they're already capable of doing and what they already capably do," said Walorski.

She says Grissom already has a good reputation in the Air Force and the Reserves.

Landing the headquarters here could also mean a lot of new jobs.
