LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Bob Good, Campbell County's Supervisor is running for the Fifth District Congressional seat, challenging Congressman Denver Riggleman.

He will announce his candidacy for the Fifth District Congressional seat on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 10609 Richmond Highway at 5 p.m.

Good currently serves as the Sunburst District representative on the Campbell County Board of Supervisors.

During his tenure on the board, Good was consistently recognized for supporting business growth and holding the line on taxes while helping grow local revenue.

"I am proud of the work I have done on the Campbell County Board and I intend to apply the same principles of financial stewardship and respect for hard-working taxpayers. President Trump’s policies have delivered a growing, vibrant economy and we must ensure that our representatives back his agenda," Good said.

In addition to being on the board, Good is currently Senior Associate Athletics Director and Executive Director of the Flames Club at Liberty University.

As the campaign kicks off, Good says he's pleased to have received the endorsement of former Congressman Virgil Goode.

"Bob is a principled individual who we can all support. His business background, his record of public service and his strong conservative values make him an excellent candidate for the 5th district. I am proud to endorse him," said Goode.
