A new incentive rate is being offered to businesses in West Virginia from Appalachian and Wheeling power.

The rate applies to new or existing customers who have a new demand of 500 kilowatt, and create at least 10 jobs.

It will amount to about a 15 percent overall discount on their electric service.

And this isn't just big for businesses, it will be helpful to state residents too.

"The more industrial and commercial customers we have, the better the rates stabilize for everyone, including residential customers. So the more customers we have using our facilities and infrastructure, then our costs get dispersed more evenly to everyone," said Joelle Moray from AEP.
