They're asking for your help at Jefferson County Media Day Blood Drive

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio — Donations are needed in Jefferson County -- and these are the kind the truly come from the heart.

Today is the Jefferson County Media Day Blood Drive at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.

Did you know 38 percent of the population can donate blood, but only 3 percent will?

“Today we have a goal of 44 units,” said Phyllis Riccabonno with the American Red Cross. “We have low registration, so you can just walk in. You won’t even have to register. You probably won’t even have to wait long. “

They have pizza and T-shirts to give away.

“We are in desperate need of blood,” Riccabonno said. “We are using blood products as fast as we can collect them, so it is very-much appreciated.”

The event runs from 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
