Two killed in Jefferson County crash

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — State Police confirm two people have died and two others are injured following a crash west of Shepherdstown.

It happened at around 4 pm on Martinsburg Pike (Route 45) near the intersection with Berridge Drive. 29 year-old Sharonda McDowell was traveling westbound when she struck 38 year-old Kristopher Cline as he was heading eastbound.

Troopers believe McDowell crossed the center line into Cline’s path. Both drivers were killed.

Two other people were taken to Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg for treatment of injuries. Their current condition is unknown.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office assisted State Police. Fire and EMS crews responded from Berkeley and Jefferson counties.
