AYRSHIRE’S business community was warned to be weary of spam emails doing the rounds pretending to be a member of the local Chamber of Commerce.
And the group warned members not to share any personal information and to delete anything suspicious.
On Monday afternoon, the warning was publicised after a number of people reported the dodgy messages coming through.
The Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce said: “Today we have received information that an email is circulating around Ayrshire Chamber members with the subject header ‘Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce’ asking companies and people to share their details.
“This email is not in anyway associated with the Ayrshire Chamber, neither is the sender Lita Peters (litapeterdata@ outlook.com). We urge anyone who has received this email to delete it and not reply any important information.”
If any members or business owners wish to speak to the Ayrshire Chamber aboutthis, they can contact t hem on enquiries@ayrshire-chamber.org
