The Atlanta Film Society executive director bought the historic theater from Michael Furlinger, who helped it become profitable during his four-year tenure as owner, in late August. It seems the upward trajectory of the theater will continue under the leadership of one of Atlanta’s most determined film champions; he plans to make it a screening and festival hub—and keep alive the long-running tradition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show performances. plazaatlanta.com
