Living the detour from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4
ROUTE 17. As the changing leaves begin to fall and make for a more scenic ride, here’s the rundown on the construction scheduled for the coming week.
The scene outside your window might be changing daily with the falling leaves, but venturing out onto Route 17 still looks a lot like living the detour.
In an attempt to make your ride a little smoother or at least more predictable we’re reporting the times and places where lane closures are scheduled to occur on a weekly basis, as indicated by 511 New York.
Developed as a onestop service for travelers, 511 New York’s information is provided by the state’s transportation agencies.
Here’s what we know about Route 17 construction from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4:
On the eastbound side:
· From 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. there will be various lane closures between Exit 125 South Street; NY 17M (Goshen) and Exit 126 NY 94 (Orange).
· From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. there will be various lane closures on the NY 17 eastbound ramp to I87 S/B (Harriman).
· From 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. there will be various lane closures on the NY 17 eastbound ramp to I87 S/B (Woodbury).
On the westbound side:
· From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be left shoulder closures on the NY 17 westbound ramp from I87 S/B (Harriman).
· From 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. there will be various lane closures between Exit 126 NY 94 (Orange) and Exit 124 NY 17A; Ramp (Goshen).
On both sides:
· From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be various lane closures between Exit 130 NY 208 (Monroe) and Exit 131 NY 17; Thruway Connector; Ramp (Orange).
Additionally, on Oct. 2, Route 17 roadwork will impact the following:
· From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a left lane closure between Exit 126 NY 94 and Exit 129 Museum Village Road (Blooming Grove).
Legoland is also reporting that beginning Monday, Sept. 30, until approximately Monday, Oct. 14, the westbound ramp to Exit 125 (Route 17M East/South Street) in Goshen is expected to be closed.
