Authorities are looking for two men who robbed a convenience store and an adjoining liquor store Thursday night.

At 11:02 p.m., a clerk reported to Shawnee County Dispatch that the convenience store at 550 S.E. Croco had just been robbed by two male subjects. The pair immediately entered the adjoining liquor store, robbed that business and fled on foot, the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

The men, who were both armed with hanguns, took an undetermined amount of cash from the registers, the sheriff's office said.

Around the same time the robbery was reported, dispatch received several calls about gunshots in the area of 550 S.E. Croco. A preliminary investigation found that the gunshots were related to the robbery.

In addition to the sheriff's office, the Topeka Police Department, including a K9 unit, and the Kansas Highway Patrol responded. Officers searched the area, but no one was located.

The robbers are described as standing 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall with thin builds. They were wearing black hoodies and blue bandanas over their faces.

Anyone with information is asked to call sheriff's detective Stephanie Dicken at (785) 251-2200.
