A man was hospitalized after he was shot in the leg while walking in Wilmington early Saturday morning, authorities said.
Just after 12:45 a.m., Los Angeles police responded to the area of Anaheim Street and Pioneer Avenue on a report of a shooting, Lt. T. Behrens said.
Officers arrived and found a man in his 40s who had been shot in the right leg, Behrens said. The victim was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.
The victim told police he was walking in the area when he heard a gunshot and realized he was struck in the leg, Behrens said.
Police did not immediately have suspect information.
