A mum killed in a horror crash was described by her heartbroken daughter as “forever and always the best person in my life”.

Angela Spalding, 44, died when her Audi TT was involved in a collision with black Vauxhall Astra on the main A96 Aberdeen-Inverness road near Keith on Friday.

A 13-year-old girl in Angela’s car was uninjured as was the woman, aged 35, at the wheel of the other vehicle.

Yesterday, Angela’s eldest daughter Shannon Louise posted a picture on Instagram with her mum with the words: “Forever and always the best person in my life, I love you mammy.”

Angela lived in Newmill, Keith, and was very popular in the community, with many turning to social media to pass on their condolences to her family.

Diane Garden said: “I can’t believe this has happened. So shocked. A lovely neighbour, thinking of all the family at this heartbreaking time.”

And Mariel McRoberts added: “So so sad. Didn’t know Angie very well but always had a quick chat any morning when I delivered her parcels. Lovely friendly girl with great personality.”

Angela was a life coach with charity Quarriers, working with secondary school children in Elgin.

Her role involved helping youngsters deal with a range of issues including problems at home, bullying, isolation, anxiety, low self-esteem and difficulties with school work.

Former colleague Andrea Robertson wrote: “So sad. I worked briefly with Angie a few years ago and she really made an impression.

“A lovely, funny lady. Full of giggles and a huge heart. My thoughts are with her family.”

Angela Owen described her friend as “a beautiful lady inside and out”.

Cindy Bothwell added: “RIP Angie, you did a lot to help our family through your work and will be missed by everyone who you have come into contact with over the years.”

A spokeswoman for Quarriers described Angela as “very much a valued member of staff” and said the charity were “devastated by the tragic news”.

She added: “Our thoughts are with Angela’s family.”

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or saw either vehicle before it to get in touch.
