DEO Kohima to hold painting competition

Dimapur, June 13 (EMN): Office of the District Education Officer (DEO), Kohima, has announced that it will organise an ‘on-the-spot painting competition’ for students from Classes VI to VIII on the theme “Communicating science for all” on June 18 from 10:30 am to 1 pm at the Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK) hall, Kohima.

In an update, DEO Kohima, Y Mary Zhimomi stated that students could select any one of the following topic for painting namely:

1. Science and technology for sustainable environment
2. Science and technology in health and hygiene
3. Urbanisation and climate change
4. Science and technology in food security
5. Sustainable agriculture
6. Science and technology for specially-abled people
7. Concept of smart city
8. Reuse and recycle of resources
9. Sustainable transport
10. Transportation and communication in future

All materials for the painting would be provided. However, students may also bring along any other accessories on their own. The winners of the competition would be awarded with certificate and prize.

Each of the school should send three students as a team to participate in the competition.

The short listed schools are Rüzhükhrie Higher Secondary School, Government High School PWD, Government High School New Market, Government High School Chandmari, Dr. N Kire Government Higher Secondary School Seikhazou, Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School, Mt. Sinai Higher Secondary School, Mezhür Higher Secondary School, Dainty Buds School, Fernwood School, Oking Christian School, Charity School, and Baptist High, Kohima.
