Eastern Mirror Desk
Dimapur, Nov. 17: The Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union (Densu) has committed to adopt the stretch of road between Metro Hospital and Fellowship (colony) junction; and look after the cleanliness of this stretch of road.
This commitment is part of the Dimapur Municipal Council’s ‘A Better Dimapur’ project. To mark the partnership, Densu members with DMC officials and the core members of ‘Team Clean Dimapur’ conducted a cleanliness drive along the adopted stretch on Saturday.
The administrator of DMC, Moa Sangtam said the adoption will be for a period of one-year starting from Nov. 17. He exhorted that one cannot expect the government to do everything and need to contribute to bring change. The administrator expressed hope that Densu will not disappoint the DMC and the community.
The president of Densu, Stephen Chang assured that with the adoption of the area, the union will work to maintain the stretch between Metro Hospital and Fellowship junction including the drains and the lane-divider. He also welcomed advice and suggestions for their project.
