Inmate sought after escape from Wilmington corrections center

Authorities in Delaware are searching for an inmate who escaped a corrections center on Friday.

The Department of Correction announced Monday that 28-year-old Ruben Bautista left Plummer Community Corrections Center in Wilmington without prior authorization through the entrance gate. A warrant has been issued for his escape after conviction.

Bautista is described as 5-foot-5, 210 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He has tattoos on his left and right forearms, left and right wrists as well as his right hand and neck. He was last seen wearing a dark green jacket, light green pants and gray shoes.

Officials say the center manages inmates transitioning back into the community and that inmates can go to work, seek jobs or attend approved treatment sessions.

Anyone with information regarding Bautista's whereabouts is urged to contact police.
