NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A 65-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon (Feb. 17) in connection with a bank robbery in the St. Roch area last week, according to FBI New Orleans spokesman Craig Betbeze.
John Murray is accused of robbing the Hancock Whitney Bank in the 2400 block of St. Claude Avenue just after 9:15 a.m. on Feb. 13, Betbeze said. After getting an unknown amount of money from the teller, Murray fled the bank on foot. It was not immediately clear if Murray was armed during the robbery.
Murray was booked into the St. Bernard Parish jail Sunday on one count of bank robbery, according to Betbeze. His booking photo was not available Sunday night, nor was his bond or attorney information.
