HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Hawaiian Airlines flight bound for Tokyo’s Haneda Airport diverted to Honolulu late Sunday.

Hawaiian Airlines said flight 851, with 183 passengers on board, took off from Kona International Airport just after 5 p.m.

About an hour later, the airline said the crew received a fault indication, so the Airbus A330 diverted to Oahu out of an abundance of caution.

The plane landed in Honolulu shortly after 7 p.m.

Hawaiian said another aircraft was being deployed to continue the trip, but because of the delay, another crew was also needed.

The company apologized for the inconvenience.
