HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Get your cameras ready, it’s almost time for the HCC fashion show!

The annual event shows off designs created by students at Honolulu Community College.

This year’s theme is called “The Collective," which is a collection of lines based off the inspirations of both first-year and graduating students.

“This year, it’s the collective because there are so many of us doing such a variety of styles that we didn’t want to isolate ourselves down with one particular look so we wanted to be inclusive,” said HCC student Joshua Greig.

Each graduating student will produce 16 collections, including rave wear, business, and Hawaiian-styled clothing.

The number of students participating in this year’s fashion show has also more than doubled since last year.

“This year it’s quite special, there are 18 designers, 16 of which who are featured in our fashion show,” said HCC fashion technology lecturer Karen Kamahele.

“What’s special about them is they all have different perspectives about how design is portrayed. They have a unique sense of where their niche is, and that is where they will excel and expand and broaden their horizons.”

The fashion show will be held at the Honolulu Community College Marine Education Training Center on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are on sale for $40 at Honolulu Community College in building 27, room 203/209.
