Police are hunting a man who caused "considerable damage" to a business by setting fires at the premises two days in a row.

The man entered Raeburn Drilling and Geotechnical Ltd in Whistleberry Road, Hamilton, at about 6am on Sunday and started a fire within the yard.

The next day, he entered the yard at around 4am and started another fire.

Police said the fires caused "considerable damage" to the family-run business.

The man is believed to be aged between 20 and 30 and was wearing a dark hooded tracksuit, with a white logo on the chest and a white logo on his left trouser leg. He was also wearing black trainers.

Detective Constable Derek Young said: "Setting any fire is dangerous and reckless and whoever is responsible here has caused considerable damage to a family business.

"Officers are carrying out inquiries in the area, speaking to those who live and work nearby, as well as checking CCTV.

"We are appealing to anyone who may know anything about either of these incidents, or were out early on Sunday or Monday who have seen anything out of the ordinary in the area, to get in touch with us."
