Honolulu on Tap Craft Beer Festival

Saturday, March 30, 1 to 9 p.m.

The nationwide beer festival returns to the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall this Saturday. Beer lovers will have three hours to sample more than 130 releases from 66 local and Mainland craft breweries. Fill up your souvenir sampling glass—every ticket holder gets one—and keep the buzz going with live entertainment and food available for purchase during the event. VIP tickets are sold out, but general admission tickets are still available online, at the Blaisdell box office and at the door.

$40–$45, Blaisdell Exhibition Hall, 777 Ward Ave. For more information and to purchase tickets, go here.

Allegiance

Thursday, March 28, through Sunday, April 7

Mānoa Valley Theatre brings a tale of suffering, love and strength to the stage with Hawai‘i’s first-ever production of Allegiance, a Broadway musical inspired by the true-life experience of George Takei (yes, of Star Trek fame) and his family during the Japanese internment of World War II. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Kimura family is evicted from their farm in Salinas, California, and sent to the Heart Mountain internment camp in Wyoming. The headliner of MVT’s 50th anniversary season, this production includes an ultratalented cast, with Broadway actor Ethan Le starring as Young Sammy.

$35–$75, Hawai‘i Theatre, 1130 Bethel St. For more information and to purchase tickets, go here.

Noodle Festival Hawai‘i

Saturday, March 30, 3 to 9 p.m.

Slurp up the atmosphere and be ready for splashback at this food vendor-packed street fair at Ward Village. Held at the new Victoria Ward Park this year, the second-ever Noodle Festival Hawai‘i features oodles of noodles from around the world for you to slurp, twirl and chomp on. Enjoy saimin, ramen, pho, pasta and more from 20-plus local vendors, including a super cute ramen-inspired sundae crafted by Sweet Creams. If you (or your stomach) are up for the challenge, enter the spicy noodle-eating competition. The first competitor to finish two bowls of Samyang’s infamously hot instant noodles wins a trophy, VH07V T-shirt and a $100 VH07V gift card.

Free, Victoria Ward Park, 980 Auahi St. For more information, go here.
