POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) - A Clay County man was killed and another person was injured Friday in a one-vehicle crash in Southeast Missouri.

According to an online crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Roger S. Trammell, 28, of Piggott was a passenger in a 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck that crashed around 11:55 p.m. Feb. 15 on Highway 53, five miles south of Poplar Bluff.

Authorities said the truck traveled off the left side of the road and overturned.

The driver, 27-year-old Skye L. Pruitt of Piggott, was taken to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.

Before being taken to the hospital, MSHP arrested Pruitt on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash.

According to the report, neither she nor Trammell was wearing a seat belt.
