The Boys in Blue played at Municipal Stadium from their formation in 1969 until 1972. The K was opened as Royals Stadium for the 1973 Season and was renamed in honor of Ewing Kauffman in 1993. The K is the fourth-oldest ballpark in the American League and is considered one of the most beautiful in all of baseball.
