Srinagar, Jun 21 (KNS): The district administration Srinagar has launched a massive drive against illegal constructions around Dal Lake, illegal mining and land mafia who are illegally filling the Government land.

Officals said that administration was receiving complaints of illegal constructions going around Dal Lake and violating LAWDA guidelines.

Officials said that a big land mafia is active in Srinagar which is illegally filling government land by using tippers during the night hours.

The officials said that 100 tippers were seized today evening by a team led by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Shahid Choudhary, SSP Traffic, ADD Srinagar, SHOs of police stations of the city.

When contacted DC Srinagar Dr Shahid Choudhary told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that more than 100 tippers stand seized by today evening.

He said that the tippers were entering into the prohibited zones without permission.

"Illegal constructions were going on in Dal Lake area. A big Land mafia are filling land during night. We acted as per court directions and the seized tippers would be released by the court. Action against the violators will continue," he said. (KNS)
