NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A man was transported to the hospital following a drive-by shooting in North Charleston Wednesday night.

North Charleston police say it happened on Chatham Street and appears to have happened as a result of an ongoing dispute between the victim and the suspect.

Shortly after 6 p.m., Hanahan police advised NCPD of a shooting victim at Remount Road and Attaway Street.

“The investigation later led to a crime scene on Chatham Street,” North Charleston police said.

The victim said he had just walked from Hanahan into North Charleston on Chatham when someone in a white car with California tags shot four times striking him once in the shoulder.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

“Investigators are learning that the victim is not be truthful about the incident and that the victim and suspect know each other,” NCPD officials said.

Police are continuing the investigation.
