Leaders still in form
League leaders Arddleen remain unbeaten after toppling Guilsfield B 207.5-202.5, despite Aled Evans (35.0) leading the way, backed up by Paul Edwards and Jo Beaumond with each scoring 34.9. But it was performances from Martin Pearce and Jack Francis with 35.4 and 35.3 respectively that helped Arddleen maintain their 100% record.
Newtown hosted Forden and secured a 201.3-196.8 victory. Top gun for Newtown was Tabby Corbett, notching up yet another possible, 35.3, with the opposition being led by relative newbie Michelle Baker with her highest score to date of 34.8.
Churchstoke gained ground with the highest score of the week, beating visitors Castle Caereinion, 208.0-196.8. Jane Thomas opened with a tremendous 35.5 and anchor man Ken Llewellyn closed out with 35.3. Castle's Richard Morgan dropped only one of his seven shots posting 34.7.
Llanfair were beaten 204.8-196.6 at home by Crew Green B despite Darrel Griffiths (34.6) back on good form. Joe Hilditch (35.4) and Ian Brown (35.6) shone for the guests.
Shock of the season came when Crew Green A dented Guilsfield A’s title hopes by only half a point, 207.1-206.6. Aaron Knight did his best for Guilsfield, conjuring up a 35.3, but Crew Green know how to win matches with no scores counting less than 34. Edward Kelton recording the best with 35.3.
