Guilsfield clinch the double

Guilsfield Reserves crowned a brilliant season by lifting the Montgomeryshire League Village Cup at Llansantffraid last night.

After already pipping Forden to the first division championship Guilsfield clinched a league and cup double when coming from behind to beat the Barcodes.

Forden looked like repeating their recent league win at Guilsfield when O’Donnell fired them ahead but the experienced Danny Barton and then Harry Garthwaite netted to clinch a 2-1 win and bring the curtain down on a magnificent season for the villagers.
