2 Missouri Boulevard businesses cited for selling alcohol to minors

Two Jefferson City businesses were found to have committed violations during alcohol compliance checks Thursday.

Compliance checks were conducted at eight local businesses, according to Jefferson City Police Department reports.

Authorities said employees at two businesses - Alcobacco at 1904 Missouri Blvd. and Bee Line Station at 1100 Missouri Blvd. - sold alcohol to a minor Thursday after checking her identification that showed she was 18 years of age.

The other six business that were checked turned away the teenager after appropriately checking her identification.

The employees of the businesses that sold alcohol to the minor were cited under Jefferson City municipal ordinance governing the sale of alcohol to minors.

JCPD officers were joined by members of the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control and the Council for Drug Free Youth for the compliance checks, according to a JCPD news release.
