A Jefferson City man has been charged with delivering drugs.

Quashawn Holder, 29, also is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.

Members of the Jefferson City Police Department's SWAT team served a narcotics search warrant Thursday morning in the 1100 block of East McCarty Street, where Holder was believed to be staying, according to a police department probable cause statement.

Holder was not there when the SWAT team arrived. A stolen gun and narcotics packaging materials were found during a search of the residence.

After officers returned to the police department, they were told Holder had returned to the East McCarty address. Officers went back and found Holder and three others in a vehicle parked in front of the residence.

Holder was taken into custody, and officers found he was in possession of 17 capsules and 12 rocks of heroin.

In the car, officers found an AK-47 type rifle with a high-capacity magazine next to it. A background check found Holder has a felony criminal history, which disqualifies him from possessing a firearm.
