Jefferson City man charged in drug case

A Jefferson City man has been charged after police served a narcotics search warrant last week at his apartment.

Nicholas Khouri, 23, is charged with delivery of a controlled substance.

Members of the Jefferson City Police Department's Community Action Team served the warrant Thursday at Khouri's apartment in the 900 block of Monroe Street, according to a JCPD probable cause statement.

Recovered in a kitchen cabinet was a container that reportedly had "high grade marijuana" inside. Six large vacuum-sealed bags were found on a living room shelf, and two of the bags allegedly had marijuana residue. Officers reportedly found more than $1,700 in cash in a bedroom closet.

When questioned, Khouri allegedly told officers he had marijuana in a kitchen drawer. They reportedly found three jars containing 9 grams of marijuana, which he allegedly admitted was for his personal use.

Prior to serving the search warrant, authorities said, they had seen a man leave the residence carrying a bag. This person was later stopped due to a traffic violation, and when officers searched the vehicle, they reportedly found marijuana hidden in a container inside a bag.
