NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - Area teams claimed three of the top six team spots Monday in the Capital City Invitational at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.
The Helias Crusaders topped the local squads, taking third with a 325. The Helias JV was fourth with a 331, while Jefferson City finished sixth with a 345.
Alex Gentry of Helias and Cole Sappenfield of the Helias JV were among five players to tie for sixth at 79 to lead area finishers.
Other Helias varsity finishers included: Owen Johnson, tied for 11th with an 80; Ethan Johnson, tied for 17th with an 81; Drew Higgins, tied for 27th with an 84; and Austin Kempker, tied for 44th with an 88.
Other Helias JV finishers included: Lane Plunkett, tied for 17th with an 81; Graham Johnson, tied for 23rd with an 83; Charlie Cavanaugh, tied for 44th with an 88; and Luke Distler, tied for 58th with a 93.
Jonathan Scott led Jefferson City, finishing in a tie for 23rd with an 83. Michael Davidson and Benton Kiesling of Jefferson City were among the golfers tied for 36th with 86s. Hudson Nilges tied for 48th with an 89, while Chase Dietzel tied for 73rd with a 96.
The Blair Oaks Falcons finished 14th in the Invitational, totaling a 373.
Jake Closser paced the Falcons with an 89 to tie for 48th, while Brady Kicker had a 90 to tie for 52nd. Jon Bott finished with a 95 to tie for 68th, while Todd Bisges carded a 99 to tie for 91st and J.J. Quell had a 105 to tie for 92nd.
The Fatima Comets were 21st on Monday with a 417.
Cole Lehman tied for 41st, shooting an 87 to lead the Comets. Hunter Rademan had a 102 to finish 89th, while Isaac Sieg finished in a tie for 90th with a 104. Carter Karst had a 124 to tie for 106th, while Ryan Bexten carded a 130 to finish 108th.
Rockhurst, who had four of the top five individual finishers, took team honors with a 299. Rockhurst teammates Michael Bessenbacher and Will King shared medalist honors with 73s.
Rock Bridge, with four golfers in the top 16, was second with a 316.
