PROVIDENCE — A 26-year-old man was sitting on the couch in his West End home Saturday night when he heard a gunshot and a bullet fell from the ceiling, he told Providence police. He picked the bullet up and placed it on a table.

The man and his mother live on the first floor of a building on Hollis Street where police, responding to a call at 11:38 p.m. for shots fired, found three bullet holes in the side under the second floor window, according to a police report provided by Commander Thomas Verdi.

No one was injured and no one has been arrested as a result of the incident.

The second-floor tenant, a 35-year-old man, told police he hadn't heard any shots or seen anything.
