LINCOLN -- An 81-year-old man was injured Sunday night after two men wearing ski masks entered his home and demanded money before knocking him to the ground, according to a press release from the Lincoln Police Department.

The two men entered the man's home on Columbia Avenue through an unlocked door at around 9:22 p.m. Sunday.

A 59-year-old woman who lives at the home confronted the intruders, and they shoved her before exiting the home. She was not injured.

The intruders stole an undetermined amount of cash from the home, according to the Police Department.

The 81-year-old suffered a head injury and was brought to Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was released from the hospital today.

The suspects are described as being 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and of average build.

Police believe the home invasion was not a random act. Anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln police at 401-333-1111 or share information through the tip line at LincolnPoliceRI.com.
