BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Oklahoma climbed one spot into fifth place during Monday's second round of the Big 12 Women's Golf Championship. The Sooners shot a 314 (+26) at par-72, 6,341-yard Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow.

Facing strong winds all round, not a single competitor in the 45-golfer field shot below par (74 was the day's best score). The Sooners enter Tuesday's final round with a two-day score of 615 (+39) and are six strokes out of the top three.

Texas leads the event with a 36-hole total of 584 (+8).

"When we have conditions like today, we have to be able to keep things simple," said OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell. "Sometimes the harder you think, the harder it gets out there. There's nothing wrong with playing the middle of the green on every hole. We struggled to execute easy shots. Tomorrow is a new day and a new opportunity for us to grow as a team. We need to take what we learned today and apply that for the final round."

Despite shooting a 77 (+5), freshman Libby Winans moved up the individual leaderboard into a tie for third. With a two-day score of 149 (+5), the rookie is two strokes out of second place and six strokes behind frontrunner Agathe Laisne of Texas.

Sophomore Kaitlin Milligan joins Winans in the top 20, sitting in a tie for 17th at 154 (+10). Freshman Mikhaela Fortuna is one stroke behind Milligan in 22nd.

Sophomore Hannah Lee holds a 161 (+17) and senior Julienne Soo owns a 162 (+18).

The Sooners tee off for the final round at 9 a.m. CT on Tuesday and will be paired with golfers from TCU and Kansas.
