COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police arrested a Louisville, Kentucky man after he was accused of threatening a department store employee with a knife on Wednesday afternoon.

At about 2:20 p.m., officers were sent to Walmart, 735 Whitfield Drive, about a disturbance, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The officers spoke with a store security employee who advised that he was watching a shoplifting suspect, later identified as Paul Horn, 45, of Louisville, Harris said. The employee advised that he suspected Horn of attempting to steal a computer hard drive and observed him enter a store bathroom.

When the employee checked the bathroom, Horn reportedly confronted the employee and threatened him with a knife, Harris said. After reviewing store security camera footage, Horn was placed under arrest. Officers recovered a knife with the blade open from one of Horn’s pants pockets, Harris said.

Horn was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on a preliminary charge of intimidation with a deadly weapon and an out-of-county warrant.
