From welding to calibrating a sprayer; from ATV driving to selecting the best dairy sires – the group were tested on all aspects of the agricultural sphere and were marked accordingly, with the top six individuals to be selected for the grand final at the Royal Highland Show this June.

Competitors were ranked based on their top three sections and going through to the final are: - Robert Campbell, James Hamilton, David Campbell, David Bennie, Tom Bruce and Kirstie Baird.

The final six will be appointed a mentor from the Royal Bank of Scotland and will create a business plan to be judged at the Royal Highland Show, where they will also take part in another series of tasks and tests before the overall winner will be crowned the Young Farmer of the Year.
