A symbolic pink ribbon was used in a special ribbon-cutting last week at Six Rivers Property Management in Fortuna.

“New” owner Sarah Albin actually bought the business 18 months ago.

“Usually businesses don’t wait this long to do a ribbon-cutting, but right when I was planning ours, I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” Albin said.

She underwent treatment at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka and on the date of the ribbon-cutting, Aug. 8, Albin marked one-year of being cancer-free.

“We celebrated a newish business and (me) being one-year cancer-free,” she said.

Six Rivers Property Management has been in business for more than 25 years and serves all of Humboldt County. Albin purchased the business in January 2018.

“Our team provides full-service property management, including residential, commercial, industrial, and storage units,” Albin said. “We also offer one-time tenant placement and eviction assistance,” she added.
