Srinagar, Feb 28 (UNI) Authorities have deployed police for crowd control at petrol pumps across Srinagar, where long queues of vehicles and people await their turn to get fuel following shortage of petroleum products in the valley.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, under powers vested to him under Section 144 of CrPC has ordered regulation of provision of petroleum products.
The long queues at petrol pumps continued on Thursday despite about 500 oil tankers and trucks loaded with essentials, which were stranded for about a week following closure of Srinagar-Jammu national highway, reaching Kashmir valley on Wednesday.
