Panaji faces shortage of water as pipelines washed away

Panaji, Aug 17 (UNI) Residents of the city and neighbouring areas are facing water scarcity after two key pipelines supplying water from a reservoir to the city got washed away.
The pipelines were washed away in a landslide which occurred on late August 16, 2019, following continuous heavy rainfall in the state during the last two weeks.
However, State Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Deepak Pauskar has said that water supply would be restored by August 19, 2019.
