Jharkhand Govt. decides to release 129 prisoners

Ranchi, Sep 25 (UNI) The Jharkhand Government today decided to release a total of 129 prisoners who are locked in separate jails of the state.
A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the state imprisonment review council meet which was chaired by Chief Minister Raghubar Das at the project building here.
The Chief Minister said, most of the prisoners locked in the jails of the state are poor and illiterate and are not ware of procedure of getting bail of fighting the case. He said in Jharkhand, tribals and people from SC community due to illiteracy despite completion of their punishment are in jails and some of them are behind bars for petty crimes and asked the officials to submit a list of such prisoners within a month so the government lawyers can help them get their release.
