University of Wyoming Calendar for Aug. 19

These are among the activities scheduled Aug. 19-25 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, Aug. 20, 4:30-6 p.m. -- The Wyoming Technology Business Center, based at UW, will host an e2e Wyoming meeting at Coal Creek Tap, located at 108 Grand Ave. in Laramie. E2e Wyoming is an educational networking program for entrepreneurs.

Tuesday, Aug. 20, 7 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium full-dome movie, “Dawn of the Space Age.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Friday, Aug. 23, 8 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium show, “Constellations Across Cultures.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Saturday, Aug. 24, 11 a.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium show, “A Special Star.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Saturday, Aug. 24, 8 p.m. -- The UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium will host a laser show, featuring music by Metallica. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

A variety of exhibitions can be seen at the UW Art Museum in the Centennial Complex, located at 2111 E. Willett Drive in Laramie. The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday hours are extended to 7 p.m. Free.

Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
