CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A road in uptown Charlotte will reopen this week following an emergency sinkhole repair.

Eastbound East Stonewall Street between South Davidson Street and South Alexander Street closed Friday afternoon due to sinkhole caused by a “utility trench failure,” Charlotte Department of Transportation officials say. The area will reopen at 4 p.m. Friday.

South Caldwell Street, East Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, and South McDowell Street are being used as a detour.

CATS is not not affected by the closure.
